Am I Living a Good Day?
HK's summer weather has unfortunately arrived. 8 weeks till break. We can play sports. A simple two part question on daily habits.
Moments of the Week (May 1-7)
Lea joined the football (soccer) team and her abilities were on full display. In her first game, she got called for multiple handball violations and got passed multiple times. To her credit, she redeemed herself at the next game and is a candidate for the most improved player.
Feris is looking destroyed after every swim practice and is practically falling asleep at the dinner table. She’s trying.
Jero signed himself up for a volleyball clinic that goes through the rest of the semester. He went into Kowloon on his own and didn't get back until late at night with new knee pads.
Like a switch, the thick humidity settled in and then the mosquitos and sandflies started aggressively biting again. Summer has arrived.
When the first of the season lightning storm suddenly rolled into Hong Kong and the red rain warning was hoisted, Sunday became a lazy day.
This week, I started learning Justin Bieber's Love Yourself on the guitar. Ever since this song came out in 2015 (almost 8 years ago), I've listened to it far more than any other and you’d think I’ve memorized the lyrics and can hum the tune by now. Nope.
Thinking Out Loud
When you're living a good day, what is one habit that tends to be part of that day? Can you find time for that habit today? (A question from James Clear’s 3-2-1)
For me, every good day starts with a run.
What about you?

Since moving apartments, I no longer have convenient access to a pool. My solution - sandwich an ocean swim with “barefoot” running. The running gets me to and from the water. And being in barefoot sandals allows for a seamless transition. My swimming form is ugly right now, especially when I breathe on my left side. I got lightheaded and followed a zig-zag pattern.
Used the weekend for long catch-up runs. One, on the trails with the usual DB to Mui Wo Loop, and the other on the road, painting the DB streets orange. When you are out there, one-on-one for hours, you get to know one another and the time flies.
Do you prefer long runs/hikes/walks solo, one on one, or in a group?
