Term 3 Begins, 10 Weeks till Summer
Trying to find our groove and enjoy spring before the weather turns for the worst and the mosquitos come back.
Moments of the Week (Apr 17-23)
While on holiday, we were fiber deprived so I packed fruits (papayas, mangoes, pears, guavas, apples, plums) and vegetables (mostly spinach) into every meal to get us regular. I overdid it.
Still on a travel high and feeling the Japanese vibes, we booked our October holiday to a place that is supposedly culturally similar, 🇰🇷.
Feris found and finished a new favorite book: Adventures with Waffles. Lea continues to read crime mysteries like "They Both Die at the End", "Two Can Keep a Secret" and "The First to Die at the End" - I'm not sure what this says about her.
The kids are tasked with curating 10 of their Japan photos with captions and descriptions. Deadline is next Sunday. The winner gets Beats Earbuds and cash. Reach out if you'd like to be a judge.
A thunderstorm canceled Jero and Coach Maricar's final Cross Country meet of the season. Unofficially and unsupervised, the team decided to still run. Peer pressure.
I made Dal Makhani (My Indian Monggo) and I got the ultimate compliment. Jero's Indian classmate smelled the aromatic concoction during lunch and traded two prized Ritz crackers for a bite.

Running in Hong Kong rain is a relief, particularly when things get nasty. Every day from here on out until late October gets yuckier.
I don't have a race anytime soon so it's a lot of easy miles, social runs, and listening to audiobooks. Lately, I feel like I’m running just so I can listen to Moriarty's Nine Perfect Strangers and The Husband's Secret, guilt-free.
