Moments of the Week (Apr 24-30)
If Pixar makes my eyes water, Japanese anime gives me goosebumps. Started watching Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury.
Food poisoning is so humbling. Violent vomiting started at 1130pm Sunday; progressively getting worse until the last of it came at 3 am. For the next two days, I was lightheaded, walking with a curved back, and felt like someone took a baseball bat to my body. The culprit? Spoiled rice.
Feris made the swim team. Tryouts called for 8 consecutive laps and she has never done more than one. I'm not sure how she did it.
After our USA summer trip, Jero mentioned that the lasting Gain detergent smell on his clothes brought him back. More than 7 months later I paid the premium and surprised him with 6 liters of the stuff. We are all smelling extra fresh these days.
Jero's Mom's Mom's Mom died this week. Lola Conchita was 99. Maricar and Jero flew to the Philippines to pay their respects and be with the family.
It was just me and the girls in Hong Kong this weekend. We had milkshakes every day, went for exhausting neighborhood discovery walks, played Pusoy Dos, and watched Always Be My Maybe, Silver Linings Playbook, and Little Women (2019).
On The Move
Run With Me on Strava - 52.08 mi, 5,285 ft Elevation
I was in bed for the first half of the week and loaded up on easy miles through the weekend. The weather has been unseasonably runnable and I had to take advantage.
A trail run with a group of friends in our DB Backyard was made extra interesting with some new segments.
In other related news, my bruised toenail from the Hong Kong marathon fell off. Gross. All the humidity and sweating equals friction and damaged toenails. It’s a new normal for me.
Next week, I’ll add a new pair of trainers to the rotation. And maybe, I’ll start swimming again.
